How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoon?
Floating Dock's modular design and superior material qualities allow it to distribute dynamic kinetic load across the entire matrix, holding up remarkably well in typhoons when anchored correctly. The elastic connection pins absorb structural shear stresses, allowing the dock to flex along wave curves rather than fracturing. Many of our customers report excellent results for docks impacted directly by major tropical storms.
Can I get the Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes. In regions without a dedicated local dealership, we ship bulk freight containers directly from our factory to your nearest ocean container terminal (such as Busan or Incheon Port) for local pickup or direct delivery. Our shipping logistics handle full customs clearance paperwork, facilitating a smooth procurement process.
Can I leave my dock in winter time?
Absolutely. The dock system can remain in place year-round, including in freezing saltwater. Because the vertical cross-sections of our cubes are slightly tapered, the expanding ice forces the modular cubes upward onto the ice sheet rather than crushing them laterally.
How does ice affect the system?
The critical factor is moving ice and current flow. If the body of water freezes statically, the dock is safe to leave in place. However, if the ice pack moves with a heavy current (acting like a slow glacier), it can shear away anchoring structures and chains. In conditions with heavy drifting ice, we recommend disconnecting and towing the system to a protected harbor for the season.
How many cubes wide are required for a stable walking platform?
For public walkways, access piers, or finger docks, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes (approximately 1.5 meters). This width balances water displacement and ensures structural stability when multiple pedestrians are walking along the outer edge.
Will the system work in shallow water?
Yes. The unladen draft of our empty pontoon cubes is only 5 to 10 cm. The critical parameter is having enough depth at the rear of the drive-on ramp during low tide so the outboard motor can clear the bottom when backing off the dock.
