How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons?
Our modular design and flexible connectivity options handle high wind and wave actions effectively. Because the load is spread across multiple flexible joints, the structure moves with waves rather than fighting them. Docks installed with proper anchoring systems have repeatedly survived severe tropical storms and typhoons.
Can I get the Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes. If we do not have a regional distributor, we ship orders directly from our Taizhou facility to your nearest sea port or freight terminal. Our logistics team handles shipping documentation to ensure smooth port customs clearance.
Can I leave my dock in the water during winter freezing?
Yes, our docks are built to stay in the water year-round, even in freezing climates. The sloped, modular design of the cubes allows the rising ice sheet to slide beneath and push the dock upwards rather than crushing it, preventing damage from static ice sheets.
How does moving ice affect the floating system?
Static ice is safe, but heavy moving ice sheets in fast currents can shear anchor points and damage stationary structures. If your site experiences severe spring ice breakups, we recommend towing the modular assembly to a protected cove or dry storage for the winter.
How many cubes wide must a stable walking platform be?
For public walking decks and gangways, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes (approx. 1.5 meters). This width provides excellent stability and balance for multiple pedestrians by distributing foot traffic loads over a wider water footprint.
Will the system work in shallow water?
Yes. Our empty cubes draw only 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 inches) of water. If the tide recedes completely, the HDPE dock will rest safely on the seabed or sandy bottom. Ensure the water depth at the ramp end is deep enough to prevent boats or jet skis from hitting the ground during loading.
