How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoon conditions?

Our floating dock's modular design and superior construction enable it to perform well in storm surges and high winds, depending on the anchoring system used. By allowing wave energy to pass through the flexible modular joints, the system minimizes localized structural load. We have received reports of excellent results from installations that have withstood significant storm events.

Can I get the Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?

Yes. In areas without a local distributor, we coordinate direct factory-to-site shipping. We can deliver your floating dock system directly to your designated regional freight terminal or project site, complete with all necessary structural components and installation guides.

Can I leave my modular dock in the water during winter freezing?

Absolutely. The dock system can remain in the water year-round, including in marine environments. The modular cubes are designed to withstand ice expansion. Their sloped profile allows the structure to rise slightly and rest on top of forming ice sheets, protecting the modules from crushing pressures.

How does moving ice affect the modular dock system?

The primary concern with winter ice is movement and current flow. If the installation site experiences stationary ice that thaws in place, the dock can remain in the water. However, if the site experiences significant currents with moving ice floes, the sheer force can damage any dock structure. In such conditions, we recommend dismantling and storing the modular system during the winter.

How many cubes wide must a floating platform be to remain stable for walking?

For safe pedestrian use, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes (approx. 1.5 meters). This width provides a stable walking surface by balancing the buoyancy across the grid. Each individual cube provides approximately 200 lbs of buoyant capacity, keeping the platform level under load.

Will the modular HDPE system work in shallow water conditions?

Yes. The modular cubes have a draft of only 2 to 4 inches when unloaded. The system can safely rest on soft mud or sandy bottoms during low tide, provided there are no sharp rocks or debris that could puncture the hulls, and sufficient water depth is available for boats to back off.
