How does ice affect the system?

The main issue with ice and its effect on the system is water flow. If there is a heavy current or moving ice, ask yourself: "When the ice thaws, does it just dissipate back into the water, or are there large blocks of heavy flow ice moving around that would damage stationary docks?" If it simply thaws and dissipates, you can leave our dock in all year. If there are heavy blocks of moving ice, you should temporarily disassemble and shore-store the dock, as moving ice blocks will damage any marine structure.

How many cubes wide do I need for a stable walking platform?

The cubes can be configured as a floating platform, gangway, finger pier, or custom shapes. For a stable walking platform, we recommend a width of at least three cubes. The dock is extremely stable to walk on and supports body weights securely due to the balanced buoyancy design of each individual cube, which supports approximately 200 lbs (approx. 90 kg) per unit.

Will the system work in shallow water?

Yes. You can use the dock anywhere you can navigate your watercraft. The cubes only draw about 2 to 4 inches (approx. 5-10 cm) of water when unloaded. The minimum functional water depth is measured at the back of the dock where drive-on docking occurs. The system can rest safely on the seabed at low tide. The key is ensuring sufficient depth at the stem of the dock to allow watercraft to back off smoothly.
