Yes, our floating docks can remain in the water year-round, including in freezing conditions and salt water. The specialized structure of the individual HDPE cubes allows the dock platform to flex and pop up on top of expanding ice sheets, preventing the crushing damage that typical fixed wood or steel docks experience.
The main factor is water flow and ice movement. If the ice thaws statically without high currents, the dock remains safe. However, if your location experiences heavy moving ice blocks (ice flows) during spring thaw, these large moving masses can shear off structures. In environments with severe ice flow currents, we advise pulling the modular dock out of the water before winter.
While the modules can be configured into any custom shape, we recommend a minimum walking platform width of three cubes (1.5 meters). This width provides optimal balance and supports high-load capacities (about 300 to 350 kg per square meter) with minimal tipping when individuals walk close to the edges.
Yes. Empty, the modular blocks draw only 5 to 10 cm of water. The critical requirement is at the stern (the entry point where the jet ski drives onto the port). The water must be deep enough for the watercraft to float off the dock when reversing. During low tides, the system is designed to rest safely on the seabed or mud without puncture risk.
