Floating Dock's modular design and superior quality hold up quite well in a typhoon depending on the installation. The flexible linking connections let the pontoon deck flex with wave motion, absorbing wave energy rather than resisting it rigidly. For severe storm conditions, we recommend reinforcing the anchoring configuration with heavy-duty mooring piles, elastic mooring bands, or dual-tension steel cables.

Can I get the Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?

Yes. In the areas where there is not a local dealer presence, we can ship your Floating Dock system directly to your local freight terminal for pickup. Our export division coordinates customs clearance and ocean logistics to ensure delivery to your designated inland terminal or harbor project location.

Can I leave my modular dock system in during the winter time?

Absolutely. The dock can be left in all year, even in saltwater. The Floating Dock system is designed to handle winter ice. The beveled design of each cube allows the dock platform to slide upward as ice expands, sitting on top of the ice sheets rather than being crushed by them.

How does ice flow affect the modular system?

The main concern with ice is water flow and movement. If there is a heavy current or moving ice, consider: "When the ice thaws, does it melt back into the water level, or are there large blocks of heavy flow ice moving around that could damage stationary docks?" If the ice melts in place, you can leave our dock in all year. If there is heavy moving flow ice, we recommend removing the modular structure before winter to prevent damage from ice collisions.

How many cubes wide must a floating bridge walkway be to ensure stable walking?

The cubes can be configured as floating platforms, gangways, finger piers, or custom layouts. For safe public access, the walking platform must be at least three cubes wide (~1.5 meters). This width provides reliable stability and supports pedestrian weight comfortably, thanks to each cube's balanced buoyancy (supporting approximately 200 lbs or 90 kg per unit).

Will the floating system work in extremely shallow water or muddy estuaries?

Yes, the dock can be used anywhere you can navigate your craft. The cubes draw only 2 to 4 inches of water when unloaded. The system can rest safely on mud or sandy bottoms during low tides. The key requirement is having enough water depth at the end of the dock to allow watercraft to back off safely.
