Floating Dock's modular design and superior material flex hold up quite well in a typhoon, depending on the installation and anchoring. The system's multi-point connection layout disperses kinetic force instead of resisting it rigidly. Our customers report excellent results for docks hit directly by severe typhoon conditions.
Can I get Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes. In regions without a local distributor, we coordinate direct factory shipments. We pack, bundle, and deliver the system to your local freight terminal for convenient pickup or coordinate door-to-door delivery.
Can I leave my dock in winter time?
Absolutely. The dock system can remain in the water year-round, including in saltwater and freezing conditions. The structural design of the cubes allows the dock to pop up on top of the ice when the water freezes, preventing damage to the system.
How does ice affect the system?
The key factor regarding winter ice is water flow. If the ice thaws and melts in place or dissipates back into the water, you can leave our dock in all year. However, if there are moving ice blocks that could shear structures, we recommend dismantling and storing the dock during winter.
How many cubes wide for a stable walking platform?
Our modules can be configured as platforms, gangways, or finger piers. For a stable walking platform, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes. This offers optimal support and stability for pedestrians by leveraging the buoyancy of each block (approx. 200 lbs/cube).
Will the system work in shallow water?
Yes. The cubes only draw about 2 to 4 inches of water when unloaded. System platforms can safely rest on the mud during low tides. It is important to ensure enough depth at the stern of the dock for boats or watercraft to safely back off.
