How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoon conditions?
The Floating Dock's modular design and material properties perform well under typhoon conditions, depending on the installation setup. Our clients report excellent results for docks hit directly by severe storms, as the modular connections allow the system to flex and distribute wave energy safely.
Can I purchase the Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my local area?
Yes. In regions without a local dealer network, we can ship your modular Floating Dock system directly to your local freight terminal for convenient pickup or arrange direct delivery to your construction site.
Can I leave my modular dock in the water during freezing winters?
Absolutely. The dock system can remain in the water year-round, including salt water. The system is designed to handle ice; the shape and draft of the cubes allow the dock to pop up on top of the ice sheet when the water freezes.
How does ice movement affect the system?
The main concern is water flow and ice movement. If there is a strong current or moving ice sheets during the spring thaw, large shifting blocks of heavy ice can damage stationary docks. If the ice melts in place, the dock can remain in the water all year. If there is high-flow moving ice, it is recommended to pull the dock out for the winter.
How many cubes wide must a platform be to ensure stable walking?
The cubes can be configured for floating platforms, gangways, finger piers, or custom shapes. For a stable walking platform, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes. The dock is stable and supports standard live loads due to the balanced buoyancy of each cube (approx. 200 lbs per cube).
Will the system work in shallow water conditions?
Yes. The system can be used anywhere you can navigate your watercraft. The empty cubes draw only 2 to 4 inches of water. The system can rest on the bottom during low tides; however, ensure there is enough water depth at the ramp or launch end to allow boats to back off safely.
