Absolutely. The dock system is designed to remain in the water all year round, even in saltwater winter environments. Due to the modular block design, the rising pressure of ice formation pops the platform upward so it sits safely on top of the sheet ice, preventing structural crushing.
The primary concern with ice is water flow rather than static freezing. If there is a heavy current carrying large blocks of moving ice, the mechanical forces can damage fixed structures. If the ice melts in place, you can leave our dock in all year. If large blocks of moving ice flow through during thaw cycles, we recommend temporary removal to prevent damage from heavy impacts.
Our cubes configure into platforms, gangways, fingers, or custom shapes. For stable walking pathways, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes. This design provides excellent stability, easily supporting heavy loads due to the balanced buoyancy (approx. 200 lbs / 90 kg per single block unit).
Yes. The docks draw only 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) of water when unloaded. The critical factor is that the water at the back of the platform is deep enough to allow boats or jet skis to slide off. The modular units can safely rest on sandy or muddy bottoms during low tide without structural damage.
