Can I get the Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes, in areas where there is no local dealer presence, we can ship your Floating Dock system directly to your local freight terminal for pickup or arrange container transport directly from our factory to your destination.
Can I leave my dock in water during the winter?
Absolutely. The dock can be left in all year round, even in saltwater environments. The Floating Dock system is designed to handle winter ice conditions. The specialized slope design of the modular cubes allows the dock to pop up on top of the ice when frozen water expands.
How does moving ice affect the system?
The primary factor with ice is water flow. If there is moving ice, ask yourself: when the ice thaws, does it dissipate, or are there large blocks of heavy flow ice that could damage static docks? If it simply thaws, you can leave our dock in all year. If there is heavy moving ice, it is recommended to pull the dock out for winter, as heavy flow ice can damage stationary structures.
How many cubes wide do I need for a stable walking platform?
The cubes can be configured as a floating platform, gangway, finger pier, or other custom designs. For a stable walking platform, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes. The dock is extremely stable and easily supports body weight, with each cube providing a balanced buoyancy of about 200 lbs (90 kg).
Will the system work in shallow water?
Yes, you can use the dock anywhere you can navigate your craft. The cubes draw only about 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) of water with no load on top. The minimum functional water depth is measured where boat launching or docking takes place. The dock must be able to flex during drive-on maneuvers. The system is fine resting on the bottom at low tide, as long as there is enough depth at the stern for the boat to back off.
