How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons and severe weather?
The modular structural layout and flexible interlocking pin connections allow the floating dock platform to wave-flex, dissipating hydro-mechanical energy rather than resisting it rigidly. In regions prone to intense storms, utilizing heavy-duty anchor chains, tension poles, and flexible slide guides allows the platform to rise and fall through storm surges. Many of our customers report minimal wear even after direct hits from significant hurricanes.
Can I get a Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes, absolutely. We serve clients globally. In locations without an active regional dealer representation, we arrange direct ocean freight container shipments to your nearest seaport or freight hub for convenient local pickup and assembly. Full physical layout manuals and video engineering walkthroughs are provided.
Can I leave my dock in the ice during winter freeze periods?
Yes. The specialized modular geometry of our HDPE cubes allows them to ride over expanding sheet ice. The draft profile acts as a vertical ramp: as ice solidifies and puts pressure on the sides, the modular platform is pushed upwards onto the ice sheet, preventing internal crushing.
How does ice movement affect the docking system?
The key factor is water flow and ice movement. If the winter ice thaws in place without significant movement, the dock system can remain in place. However, if your body of water experiences heavy currents with large, moving ice sheets, the dock should be unpinned and pulled to shore prior to freeze-up, as moving ice masses can shear off anchoring structures.
How many cubes wide must a stable walking platform be?
For safe walking platforms, main walkways, and fingers, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes (approx. 1.5 meters). This configuration provides a stable center of gravity, preventing lateral listing when supporting adult payloads. Single cubes support up to 90 kg each, but a wider assembly is recommended for public access pathways.
Will the jet ski ramp system work in shallow water?
Yes, our docks draw only 2 to 4 inches of draft when unladen. The system is designed to rest safely on the seabed or lake bed during low tide, provided there are no sharp rocks or debris beneath. The critical depth consideration is at the rear of the ramp, where water must be deep enough for the watercraft to slide off and clear the bottom structure.
