Can I get Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes. In areas where there is not a local dealer presence, we can ship your Floating Dock system directly to your local freight terminal for convenient pickup.
Can I leave my dock in winter time?
Absolutely. The dock can be left in all year, even in saltwater. The Floating Dock system is designed to remain in ice during winter conditions; our specialized cube shapes allow the dock to rise on top of shifting ice sheets.
How does ice affect the system?
The primary concern with ice is water flow and movement. If you experience heavy currents or moving ice blocks that could shear stationary wood or concrete piers, the dock should be removed. However, if the ice freezes statically and thaws in place without heavy flow currents, the system can remain in the water year-round.
How many cubes wide for a stable walking platform?
The cubes can be configured as floating platforms, gangways, fingers, or custom shapes. For optimal stability under foot traffic, walking platforms should be at least three cubes wide. This configuration provides a stable walk and supports typical body weights through balanced load distribution.
Will the system work in shallow water?
Yes. The cubes only draw about 2 to 4 inches of water when unloaded. The critical factor is having enough depth at the edge of the dock to allow watercraft to safely float and clear the bottom when backing off. The system can rest safely on mud or sand during low tides.
