How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoon conditions?

The modular interlocking design allows the floating dock to bend and move with heavy waves, dispersing wave energy across the platform. While rigidity can damage fixed structures, our system adapts to rising waters during typhoons. Performance depends on proper anchoring: secure mooring chains, heavy-duty piling brackets, and robust seawall connection buffers are essential to ride out severe storm surges safely.

Can I purchase directly if there is no dealer in my local area?

Yes. In regions without a local distributor, we ship directly from our factory in China. Orders are packed in high-capacity containers and delivered to your nearest maritime port or logistics terminal. We provide complete customs documentation, packing lists, and assembly guides to ensure a smooth clearance and installation process.

Can I leave the dock installed during freezing winter periods?

Yes. The system is designed to handle winter ice, even in saltwater environments. The sloped, rounded shape of the individual cubes helps the dock pop up on top of the ice sheet as it freezes, protecting the floats from crushing forces. We recommend leaving the dock installed over winter in calm waters.

How does moving ice or heavy currents affect the system?

The main concern is water flow and moving ice. In waters where spring thaws cause large, moving ice sheets or fast logs to drift, the physical impact can damage any dock structure. In these high-risk areas, we recommend uninstalling the modular dock before the winter freeze and storing it on land, then quickly redeploying it in the spring.

How many cubes wide is required for a stable walkway?

For safe public or commercial use, walkways should be at least three cubes wide (approx. 1.5 meters). This width provides a stable walking surface by balancing the buoyancy of the outer cubes. A single cube has a load capacity of approximately 90 kg (200 lbs), so a three-cube-wide walkway provides excellent stability and prevents tipping under unbalanced loads.

Will the floating dock system work in shallow water conditions?

Yes. Pontoons draw only 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 inches) of water when unloaded. The critical factor is at the drive-on ramp, where the dock must flex to allow watercraft to launch. At low tide, the dock can rest directly on a soft mud or sand seabed. However, ensure there are no sharp rocks or debris beneath the dock that could puncture the plastic under pressure.
