How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons?
Floating Dock's modular design and superior quality hold up quite well in a typhoon depending on the installation. Our customers are reporting excellent results for the docks that were hit hard in all the typhoons.
Can I get Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes. In areas where there is no local dealer presence, we can ship your Floating Dock system directly to your local freight terminal for pickup.
Can I leave my dock in during the winter time?
Absolutely. The dock can be left in all year round, even in salt water. The Floating Dock system is designed to be left in the ice for the winter. The special design of the cube allows the dock to pop up on top of the ice.
How does ice affect the system?
The issue when it comes to ice and its affect on the system is water flow. If there is a heavy current or moving ice, the key question to ask yourself is: "When the ice thaws out, does it just dissipate back into the water level or are there large blocks of heavy flow ice moving around that would severely damage stationary docks?" If you answer "Yes" to the first part of the question, you can leave our dock in all year. If you answer "Yes" to the second part, then your next move is as obvious as the ice will tear out and wash away any structure.
How many cubes wide is required for a stable walking platform?
The cubes can be used as a floating platform, gangway, finger pier, or any other customized configuration. The walking platform must be at least three cubes wide. The dock is extremely stable to walk on and will support body weights due to the balanced buoyancy of each cube (about 200 lbs).
Will the system work in shallow water?
Yes, you can use the dock anywhere you can drive your crafts. The cubes only draw about 2 to 4 inches of water with the craft off it. The minimum functional water depth is measured at the back of the dock where the drive-on takes place. The dock needs to be able to flex in order to drive on top of it. The system is fine at rest on the bottom during low tides. The important thing is that there is enough depth at the stem of the dock to allow the boat to back off.

How do you fill the boxing sandbag bases for maximum stability?
Our blow-molded bases are designed with high-diameter sealing ports that accommodate either dry sand or water. For commercial combat gyms in South Africa where impact forces are maximum, we recommend filling the base with dry sand, which yields a weight ballast up to 130kg (286 lbs), compared to water which yields approximately 100kg (220 lbs). A mixture of sand and water can also be used for maximum density.
Do the boxing sandbag bases degrade under South Africa's intense UV radiation?
No. Unlike cheap, low-grade plastic bases that utilize standard PE, Shenghuang uses high-grade HMW-HDPE combined with carbon-black UV-stabilizers. This formulation has been structurally tested to endure high levels of solar exposure without losing tensile strength or showing micro-fissures.
