How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons or heavy tropical storms?
Floating Dock's modular design and superior quality hold up quite well in a typhoon depending on the installation. The modular construction absorbs wave energy and flexes dynamically. Our customers report excellent results for the docks that were hit in various typhoons.
Can I get a Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my local Mexican region?
Yes. In areas where there is not a local dealer presence, we can ship your Floating Dock system directly to your local freight terminal (or nearest inland dry port) for pickup or coordinate commercial delivery to your job site.
Can I leave my floating dock in the water during winter or low-water seasons?
Absolutely. The dock can be left in all year even in salt water or ice. The Floating Dock system is designed to be left in the ice for the winter. The special design of the cube allows the dock to pop up on top of the ice. For reservoirs with fluctuating water levels, the platform safely rests on the bottom at low tide.
How does water flow affect the stability of the system?
The key factor is water flow and moving ice. If there is moving ice, you need to consider: "When the ice thaws, does it just dissipate back into the water level, or are there large blocks of heavy flow ice moving around that would severely damage stationary docks?" If the ice thaws and dissipates, you can leave our dock in all year. If there is heavy moving flow ice, we recommend temporary off-season extraction to protect your asset.
How many cubes wide is required for a stable walking platform?
The cubes can be configured as a floating platform, gangway, finger pier, or other layouts. For a safe walking platform, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes. The dock is stable to walk on and supports high body weight due to the balanced buoyancy of each cube (approximately 90kg / 200 lbs per cube).
Will the system work in shallow water conditions?
Yes. You can use the dock anywhere you can navigate your craft. The cubes draw about 2 to 4 inches of water when unloaded. The minimum functional water depth is measured at the back of the dock where drive-on takes place. The dock needs space to flex to allow a boat or PWC to drive on top of it.
