How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons and tropical storms?

The modular design allows the entire structure to flex with the waves rather than resist them, distributing the local kinetic stress across the entire system. When combined with appropriate heavy mooring piles, chain anchors, or elastic seafloor connectors, our floating docks can withstand significant storm surges and typhoons without catastrophic structural failure.

Can I purchase direct from the factory if there is no dealer in my local area?

Can the HDPE modular dock be left in place during sub-zero winter temperatures?

Absolutely. The special engineering design of our floating cubes features slightly tapered sides. When ice sheets expand and compress the cubes, the force squeezes the dock upward, causing it to rest safely on top of the ice. The HMWHDPE compound remains flexible and impact-resistant down to -60°C.

How does moving ice flow affect the system during spring thaws?

If your water body has moving ice flows (large sheets of thick ice traveling downstream with currents), they can act like a slow-moving knife and damage stationary structures. Under these specific conditions, we advise disconnecting the modular pins and towing the floating dock array to a sheltered area during the spring break-up season.

How many cubes wide must a floating platform be to ensure safe pedestrian use?

For safe walking stability, we recommend a minimum platform width of three (3) cubes. Each individual cube provides approximately 90 kg (200 lbs) of buoyancy per layer. A width of three cubes prevents lateral listing (tipping) when a pedestrian walks close to the outer edges.

Will the modular dock system work in extremely shallow tidal zones?

Yes. With the watercraft removed, our modular cubes draw only 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 inches) of water. If the tide recedes completely, the system can rest flat on a soft mud or sand bottom without damage. Ensure there are no sharp rocks or debris that could puncture the bottom of the floats when bearing load.
