The primary concern with ice is water flow and ice movement. If ice thaws and dissipates back into the water without heavy currents, the modular dock can be left in place. However, if your location experiences heavy moving ice flows that could shear stationary docks, we recommend removing the modular structure before winter to prevent damage from floating ice sheets.
For safe walking and stable structural performance, we recommend a minimum platform width of three cubes. This width provides adequate balance and ensures the dock stays level when supporting human traffic, with each individual cube supporting up to 200 lbs of load capacity.
Yes. The modular system can be deployed in shallow water environments. With no water crafts loaded, the cubes only draw between 2 to 4 inches of water. To drive on top of the dock, ensure the water depth at the rear section is sufficient for the dock to flex and accommodate your craft during load and unload operations.
