How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons?

Our modular HDPE platforms are designed to flex and distribute load stress, allowing them to ride out storm surges and high waves. During storm surges, the modular connection ears distribute load stresses, while steel piling guides or heavy anchoring chains secure the structure. Clients in storm-prone coastal regions report excellent performance with our dock systems.

Can I get a Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?

Yes. If we do not have a local dealer in your region, we can ship your modular dock order directly to your nearest port or freight terminal for pick-up. We provide detailed installation manuals, assembly videos, and technical guidelines to assist your onsite contractors.

Can I leave my dock in the water during winter freezing?

Yes. The dock can remain in the water year-round, including in ice. The sloped design of the cubes allows the rising ice sheet to slide under the dock, popping it upward to prevent crushing damage. However, in areas with moving ice floes or strong winter currents, we recommend removing the dock to prevent mechanical damage.

How does moving ice affect the floating system?

Static ice sheet growth is generally safe for our system. However, moving ice floes can shear wood, concrete, or plastic structures. If your waterway experiences significant ice movement during spring thaws, we recommend hauling the modular docks out of the water to prevent damage.

How many cubes wide is required for a stable walking platform?

For public pathways, commercial finger piers, or floating walkways, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes (approx. 1.5 meters). This width provides a stable walking surface that handles typical foot traffic and lateral water forces effectively.

Will the system work in shallow water conditions?

Yes. When unladen, our cubes draw only 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) of water. During low tide, they can safely rest on sandy or muddy bottoms. It is important to ensure there is enough depth at the edge of the dock for boats or watercraft to safely back off.
