Unlike wood docks, which decay, warp, and release chemical preservatives like CCA into water ecosystems, or concrete docks that crack under heavy freeze-thaw cycles, HDPE remains chemically inert and highly flexible. When heavy waves or floating ice packs compress the dock structure, the material deforms elastically without suffering fractures or structural failure.

Buoyancy Performance: Each individual cube exhibits a balanced buoyancy rating of approximately 200 lbs to 350 kg/m² depending on configuration, allowing them to remain stable while carrying substantial personnel, equipment, or utility payloads.

How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons?
Floating Dock's modular design and superior quality hold up quite well in a typhoon depending on the installation. Our customers are reporting excellent results for the docks that were hit in all the major typhoons. Because the system is flexible, it absorbs and dissipates the kinetic energy of large waves by moving along with the swells, unlike rigid wood or concrete docks that often fracture under torque.
Can I get the Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?
Yes. In areas where there is not a local dealer presence, we can ship your Floating Dock system directly to your local freight terminal for pickup or coordinate container delivery straight to your site location. Our logistics department assists with custom clearances, packaging compliance, and tariff document preparation.
Can I leave my dock in winter time?
Absolutely. The dock can be left in all year, even in saltwater environments. The Floating Dock system is designed to be left in the ice for the winter. The special design of the individual cube features sloped geometry that allows the dock to pop up on top of the expanding ice layer, protecting the system from compression forces.
How does ice affect the system?
The issue when it comes to ice and its affect on the system is water flow. If there is a heavy current or moving ice, the key question to ask yourself is: "When the ice thaws out, does it just dissipate back into the water level, or are there large blocks of heavy flow ice moving around that would severely damage stationary docks?" If you answer "Yes" to the first part, you can leave our dock in all year. If there is a heavy flow of moving ice chunks, it is highly recommended to disassemble and store the modular dock during winter, as the impact of shifting ice shelves can damage anchoring setups.
How many cubes wide for a stable walking platform?
The cubes can be used as a floating platform, gangway, finger pier, or any other type of customized configuration you desire. For a stable public or industrial walking platform, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes (approximately 1.5 meters). This width guarantees that center-of-gravity shifts are absorbed safely, allowing the platform to support several adults comfortably due to the balanced buoyancy of each cube (about 200 lbs/90 kg per cube).
Will the system work in shallow water?
Yes, you can use the dock anywhere you can navigate your crafts. The cubes only draw about 2 to 4 inches of water with the craft off it. The minimum functional water depth is measured at the back of the dock where the drive-on takes place. The dock needs to be able to flex in order to drive on top of it. The system is fine at rest on the bottom during low tides; the important thing is that there is enough depth at the stem of the dock to allow the boat to back off.
