How does the Floating Dock system hold up to typhoons and heavy storms?

The modular design of our floating docks helps absorb wave action by allowing the structure to flex. By distributing stress across high-tensile connection lugs, the dock avoids the rigid loading issues that can affect steel or timber installations.

Under typhoon conditions, survival depends on the anchoring setup. When properly secured using dynamic piling systems, elastic mooring lines, or heavy-duty sea anchor chains, our platforms have successfully withstood severe storms.

Can I get a Floating Dock system if there is no dealer in my area?

Yes. In regions without a dedicated local distributor, we ship directly from our manufacturing facility in China. The modular pontoon cubes are packed efficiently into standard shipping containers (20GP or 40HQ), which we deliver to your nearest ocean freight terminal or port.

Can I leave my dock in water during the winter time?

Our HDPE docks are designed to remain in the water year-round, including in freezing conditions and saltwater environments. The shape of the modular cubes, combined with their impact strength, allows the dock structure to slide upward when ice expands, preventing pressure damage.

How does ice flow and movement affect the floating system?

The main concern with ice is water flow and movement. In calm areas where water freezes statically and thaws in place, the dock can remain in the water safely.

However, in waterways with strong currents, spring thaws, or moving ice floes, the sheer physical force of moving ice can damage anchoring systems or wash the dock away. In these conditions, we recommend dismantling and storing the modular system before the winter freeze.

How many cubes wide is required for a stable walking platform?

For general walking paths, gangways, or finger piers, we recommend a minimum width of three cubes (approximately 1.5 meters). This width provides a stable walking surface that distributes load effectively, supported by the buoyancy of each module (which handles about 90kg or 200 lbs per cube).

Will the modular system work in shallow water environments?

Yes, our docks are suitable for shallow waters. Unloaded cubes draw only about 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 inches) of water. During low tide cycles, the system can rest directly on flat, sandy, or muddy bottoms.

For drive-on setups (like jet ski launches), ensure there is enough water depth at the entry end of the dock to allow the craft's hull to transition smoothly onto the floating modules.
